Since 2018 I support the team at Fairtiq in building and maintaining a consistent design language. Fairtiq is an award-winning ticketing app for public transport.
Fairtiq Design
Public Property
A multimedia installation developed together with Andrés Villa Torres addressing the ownership and transparency of our digital traces. The piece collects publicly available data from individuals and projects them in a public space. It was first displayed at Playground London and later at Temp Studio Lisbon.
Fairtiq Booth
Together with Anne Lutz a fair trade stand was planed and realised for Fairtiq. A wall projection with animations by Animotor and a custom touchtable application were used to entertain and inform the visitors in an engaging way. It was first setup at InnoTrans in 2018. The touchtable application was later adapted for tablets and is now used by the sales team of the company.
Computersignale
As part of the research team at IFCAR, I was responsible for planing and developing a website that aims to improve the user experience of reading long scientific texts. Physical books, e-readers and code editors were taken as inspiration. To address the big number of references made in scientific texts, we developed a new document view to exclusively focus on media and references.
Cool and Clean
Together with communication agency Weissgrund we developed a new digital user experience for the tabaco prevention program of Switzerland Cool and Clean. The new design aims to better support young sports teachers to prepare their clases and treat drug related topics with teenagers.
The design follows the existing guidelines of the brand but introduces a modern, mobile first user experience and a new focus of the content.
CASAGENT
Together with advertising agency Partner & Partner we developed concepts to improve the user experience for the real estate management software CASAGENT by CASASOFT. Goal was to clean up the powerfull and versatile tool and make it more accessible by introducing a clean and managable structure with smart features.
Weissgrund
With the design done by Studio Achermann, a responsive website with a mobile-first approach has been developed. Weissgrund AG is Zurich based communication company.
Audio Seismograph
A small but smart and highly customizable application that visualizes audio signals in the form of a seismograph. The concept was developed by Bellprat Associates for an exposition for Nagra.
Fragments of Switzerland
An interactive installation that uses live imagery from Swiss web cameras and projects them onto banners hanging from the ceiling. The piece has been developed as a collaboration of Swissnex and ZHdK. It was exhibited in Rio de Janeiro, Bangalore and Shenzhen.
Concept by Karin Zindel. Developed and deployed together with Moritz Kemper and Simon Pfaff.
Fischli
Together with swiss illustrator François Chalet and sound designer Mathias Vetter we developed an interactive installation for the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich. The piece was commissioned by the Museum and was exhibited in 2016 as part of the exhibition entitled Animated Wonderworlds.
I am a Helicopter
Within eighty days, I went through the process of becoming a helicopter pilot and thoroughly documented every step. With an interactive video installation and a book designed in conjunction with the graphic designers at Afrika, I shared my personal experiences and thoughts as an interaction designer.
The project was developed during my Master's degree at the ZHdK under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Gerhard Buurman and Max Rheiner. Check out the project website for the full documentation and more videos.
Formutainment
For one year, I worked with a small team at the ZHdK on a project which aimed to break up the paradigm of online forms while thinking of new solutions. The problem of encountering annoying forms when registering for new services is ubiquitous. We analyzed key issues, designed new concepts, and developed prototypes for a partner from the health insurance industry in Switzerland. The project was supported by the Swiss Commission for Technology and Innovation and the team consisted of Stefano Vannotti, Cornelius Müller, Martin Feuz, Micha Geiser and me.
LCH
For the new corporate identity of the Swiss Association for Teachers (LCH) and under commission of Lars Müller Publishers, I developed an experimental tool to create computer generated logos to serve as inspiration for the graphic designers at the firm.
Fadepad
On behalf of swiss artist Titus Eichenberger I developed a digital drawing application for live art performances. The drawing experience lets you experiment with rhythm and colors. The drawing is deleted backwards in the same speed you drew it. Built with web technologies, Fadepad is free to use, runs online and offline on desktop computers, smartphones and tablets.
Afrika CMS
This custom CMS is the result of an ongoing web project I have been working on for the past 2 years. It aims to simplify the editing of websites. There are a multitude of content management systems available but the majority are offering too many options and are overwhelming to the user. The goal is to have the capability to complete all activity directly from the front end, leaving no necessity for a separate back end page.
Rehalp
Together with the graphic designers at Afrika, I developed a custom web tool for the nursing home Rehalp in Zurich. The application simplifies the process of creating the often changing name tags throughout patient dormitories. The staff only need to enter a room number into the application form and are immediately shown its current inhabitants. They can make changes and print door and floor tags directly from the webform.
Connected Strangers
This interactive installation is a follow-up to Lonely in the Crowd. It has been developed specifically for an exhibition in two museums in Lausanne, Switzerland – the Mudac and Musée de la Main. Just like it’s predecessor, the piece offers a space to playfully connect with strangers, with the exception of not only allowing interaction between people located within close vicinity, but also participants at the other museum.
Time Ride
A touchtable application developed on behalf of Bellprat Associates. It was part of an exposition for Nagra, the National Technical Competence Center for the disposal of radioactive waste.
Lonely In The Crowd
Lonely in the Crowd deals with the anonymity of citizens in an increasingly urbanized world. It is an interactive installation that takes place in crowded, urban areas, which allows strangers to get in contact with each other in a playful, yet genuine way. The installation was exhibited at the Bachelor Exhibitions at the ZHdK and supervised by Prof. Dr. Karmen Franinovic and Max Rheiner.
Ecopong
Together with Jonas Shriqui, we developed a multi-touch game that aims to raise awareness regarding global warming. The players need to protect the earth from incoming sunrays and reflect them back into the atmosphere. Meanwhile, vehicles pollute the air and create clouds which make it harder to reflect the sunrays. The project was the result of a course at the ZHdK.
